Mark qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1990 and is a director of the Barrow Hill Veterinary Hospital having worked here since 2000.
He holds the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificates in Small Animal Surgery and Veterinary Radiology, greatly aiding his interests in orthopaedic, soft tissue and keyhole surgery.
In 2015 Mark was accredited to the new level of Advanced Practioner in small animal surgery by the RCVS. He is 1 of the first vets in the UK to be accredited.
In his spare time he enjoys cycling, following the cricket and spending time with his family. He has a menagerie of pets including a dog - Minnie; Sparkles and Flash the cats, Mr and Mrs Tortoise and Gregory Peck the chicken
Lindsay qualified as a vet in 2006 from the University of Cambridge. Presently, she is studying towards her certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (soft tissue surgery). She has a particular interest in imaging and airway surgery.
Lindsay is currently on maternity leave with her second child.
Outside of work she is extremely active enjoying marathon running, gorge walking, rock climbing, mountain biking and many other sporting activities.
Like most of our staff Lindsay has several rescue pets: Terrier, Peggy and Labrador, Maggie and her cats Zebedee and Thomas.
Naomi qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2007. Naomi joined the practice in 2008 after a year in practice in Cornwall. She has a particular interest in small animal medicine.
In her free time Naomi is an excellent cook, enjoys running, and has worked caring for orang-utans in Borneo.
She has a cuddly terrier called Milo and a tabby cat called Louis. She is currently on maternity leave.
Sarah Bolt qualified from the RCVS in 2012 and joined the practice in October 2013 after a year in practice in Swindon. Sarah has a particular interest in small animal medicine and has recently started studying for her Certificate in small animal medicine.
Outside of work Sarah enjoys cooking, cycling and exploring Kent’s countryside. She is also kept well entertained by her two very playful cats Millie and Logan.
Sarah is currently on maternity leave.
Sally qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1996. She has been in
general practice since then and enjoys medicine and ultrasonography. She
gained a certificate in small animal medicine in 2016.
In her spare time she enjoys outdoor sports including skiing, triathlon, hillwalking/mountaineering and running (accompanied by her dog Olive!) She also has a cat called Peaches.
Andy joined the Barrow Hill Vet team in June 2018. He qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2013 and has just completed a RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Small Animal Surgery)
Since qualifying, Andy has worked in general practices and hospitals in Norfolk, Greater London and Hertfordshire. Andy has an interest in surgical management.
He also has interests in cardiology, emergency/critical care and oncology, and has a developing interest in CT scanning. Outside of work Andy enjoys cycling, yoga and countryside walks with Tom, his young Labrador.
Oli qualified from Bristol university in 2014 with his Bachelors in Veterinary science (hons) and Bachelors in veterinary immunology. He joined the practice in August 2018 having worked previously in the East of England.
Oli has a keen interest in surgery and imaging and will be assisting Mark in undertaking CT scans. Oli is a keen cyclist and outdoorsman and can often be found in the depths of the Kent countryside with his two spaniels.
Dani is our Deputy Head Nurse and is in charge of all the orthopaedic instruments and orthopaedic theatre.
She has a special interest in anaesthesia and feline nursing.
Dani has recently moved house so is enjoying decorating and she enjoys spending spare time with her nephew and goddaughter
Lucy is a qualified Veterinary Nurse who has worked at Barrow Hill Veterinary Hospital since 2002. She has a particular interest in scrubbing into operations and caring for in patients.
She works part time and is proud mum to 2 handsome boys.
Outside of work, she enjoys mountain biking and gardening.
Lucy has a tortoiseshell cat called Tigerlily.
Ellie qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2012 and has joined us this year. She is very interested in surgical nursing especially with regards to keyhole and orthopaedic surgeries.
Outside of work, she enjoys time with her gorgeous son George and walking her two spaniels, Ren and Fern. Ellie is on maternity leave with her second child
Penny is a qualified veterinary nurse and has worked at Barrowhill Veterinary Hospital since 1989!
Penny does most of the nursing for our keyhole (laparascopic) surgeries.
She is a keen member of a choir that has raised many thousands of pounds for charity and is a talented tap dancer. Penny has a chihuahua called Diego and a rescue from the surgery called Dora.
Emma joined us as a trainee veterinary nurse in June 2016.
She is undertaking her training at Canterbury College while working alongside our qualified Veterinary Nurses.
Emma enjoys swimming in her spare time. In practice, she is concentrating on becoming a qualified veterinary nurse but particularly enjoys in patient care.
Jess also completed her final year with us and then became a permanent staff member in 2017.
Jess really loves cats and enjoys nursing feline medicine cases. As a hobby, she likes photography and travel with Turkey being her favourite holiday destination.
She even has two cats called Iki and Eouch which is ONE and TWO in Turkish :)
Emma Denney joined us in April 2017 as one of our part time nurses. She enjoys nurses clinics and spending time working with our clients.
She is very interested in weight management clinics. At home, she enjoys life with her little boy Theo who takes up all of her time!
Hayley is our Student Veterinary Nurse. Hayley joined us as a kennel assistant in 2017 and has since become a trainee veterinary nurse.
Hayley is just learning the ropes but so far particularly enjoys anaesthesia and clinics.
In her spare time she enjoys going for dinner and completing exercise classes.
Liz joined us in February 2018. She is just about to start her second year in Veterinary Nurse training.
Liz enjoys medical nursing and clinic works - especially doing new kitten and puppy checks.
In her spare time she pays netball and does photography and videography as a hobby.
Amber joined us in August 2018 having qualified as a Veterinary Nurse with the College of Animal Welfare. Amber really enjoys clinic work and particularly enjoys dealing with weight loss management.
Out of work, Amber enjoys playing computer games, shopping and going to the cinema.
Katie joined us in August 2018 as our Kennel Assistant. She has fitted in really well and loves keeping the practice areas clean and tidy and provides the inpatients with extra TLC during their stay with us.
In her spare time, Katie enjoys riding and competing mainly in cross county. Katie hopes to train as a veterinary nurse in the future.
Amelia joined us as our second kennel assistant in September 2018. Amelia has fitted in to the team really well and is enjoying keeping our clinical areas clean and tidy as well as keeping the in-patients tended to.
Amelia enjoys driving her modified car in her spare time and any other spare time is taken up with her dog, Lady and cats, Leo and Tyler.
Kirsty is a qualified veterinary nurse. She enjoys all aspects of nursing and is especially good at giving poorly pets that extra bit of TLC.
She is a keen gardener and is currently raising money for a dog rescue charity by collecting sponsors for a bungee jump later this year.
She has a cat Izzy and a hamster called Ruby.
Sam completed her final year of training with us and on qualifying accepted a permanent position at the Ashford Hospital.
Sam particularly enjoys working with the in patients and giving them the TLC that they are missing. She has a VERY busy household with 2 young sons, Jacob and George, 2 dogs, 1 parrot, 3 guinea pigs and 2 rabbits which doesn't leave her with much spare time but if she can fit in an exercise class or two, she will try!
Leigh qualified as an RVN in 2012 and joined the practice in February 2018 as a member of the night time. Leigh is very keen on emergency surgery and inpatient care.
Leigh fills her spare time with her gorgeous son, Leo and her hand reared cat - Ozai. Leigh also finds the time to sings as part of a covers band and enjoys exercising, mainly of the fighting kind - back in 2008 she gained her Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Leigh started her Feline Nursing certificate in 2018.
